With the increased digital access to our personal lives, Wilder Therapy holds the following policies to provide protection of privacy for both client and clinicians:
Email and Text Policy: Due to the ease of electronic communication, many clients prefer to reach us by email or text message. Clinical issues will not be addressed through email or text. Email and text messaging are not secure forms of communication and may be vulnerable to interception by an unintended party. For the convenience of our clients, it is the practice of this office to send email and text reminders of appointments. However, you are free to opt out of receiving all electronic communications from us. Additionally, email will be responded to Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Any messages received after those hours will be addressed the next business day.
Social Media Policy: Providers of Wilder Therapy & Wellness will not accept “friend requests” or invitations to connect or be linked on social media sites since this constitutes a dual relationship that can negatively impact therapeutic relationships. If shared social media connections are found to pose a potential threat to confidentiality, clients may be blocked to ensure the privacy of both therapist and client. Our therapists will talk with you about those circumstances in the therapeutic setting.
Websites & Endorsements: Comments made on websites or social media accounts will not be responded to as we have an ethical duty to protect your confidentiality. Clients should be aware that they are entitled to confidentiality and that providing a comment on a provider’s website may reveal the nature of their relationship to the provider.
You may find a profile for Wilder Therapy & Wellness, or our providers, on websites which invite visitors to provide a review or endorsement of our services. It should be noted that our presence on those websites is not a request for your endorsement. Many websites post listings for professionals without their knowledge or consent. Clients should be aware that they are entitled to confidentiality and that providing a review of services will reveal the nature of their relationship to their provider. This is not to discourage you if you would like to leave a review but to ensure you are aware of potential issues impacting your privacy.
